Ansys Electronics 2024R1: What’s cool?
Ansys Electronics 2024R1 introduces great new features to support engineering innovations. As the world is becoming more digital and there is no business that could run without electronics, wherever you look, there are antennas, magnetic locks, electric motors, and printed circuit boards.
Complying with the RF and EMC and mastering their thermal and Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) are essential. With this new release, you can increase your design predictability and efficiency, which shows the EBITDA of your business.
The new Ansys Electronics 2024R1 helps you break down barriers to innovation, whatever your business is: Home temperature control, electric motors, wireless charging, car radars, power transformers, and sports watches.
In this article, our team introduces their top 3 cool capabilities in the new Ansys Electronics 2024R1.
“Ansys HFSS 2024R1 streamlines the process for complex layout assemblies. There is multizone support for rigid-flex PCBs, which enables parametric bend conditions to simulate your design, allowing you to efficiently cycle through bend conditions to check for signal integrity and EMI problems easily.
Integrating Ansys HFSS SBR+ and Ansys STK introduces the Ansys STK RF Channel Modeler, allowing you to model high-fidelity wireless communications networks with the Ansys STK Platform. This new integration leverages SBR+ at large scales, replicating real-world conditions with dynamic scenarios and realistic environments. Accelerate your simulation with high-performance GPUs.” states Rob Waring, Engineer – BSc. (Hons), PhD
1. CoDesign for engineering efficiency
Ansys has been working a lot with Altium lately. The Ansys Electronics 2024R1 and the Altium Designer 24 support the CoDesign workflow.
PDSVISION, as an Ansys and Altium partner, is excited about the new workflow. It helps dramatically compress design cycles and accelerate the overall design process, including optimizing the prices for components in Ansys with information from Altium using Octoparts. The interactive co-design helps significantly reduce layout time and achieve milestones and time to market faster.
2. Automation is a time-saver
Automation and engineering efficiency play an essential role in Ansys Electronics 2024 R1. You can use Python with PyAEDT and externally created files to automate and bring efficiency to your product development workflows.
Think about the efficiency and convenience you can achieve by scripting your Antenna placement in Python and defining the arrays in CSV files. You can automate the setup, solving, and post-processing of your standard EM benchmarks and other repetitive tasks. The 2024R1 comes with many time savers.
3. Break down the innovation barriers
HFSS 3D comes with multizone support for rigid-flex PCBs with parametric bend definitions. This allows you to reduce NVH in electronic devices and predict forces and losses to facilitate thermal analysis.
IBIS-AMI (Input/Output Buffer Information Specification – Algorithmic Modeling Interface) is a standard interface for behavioral modeling of high-speed I/O (Input/Output) channels in electronic design.
Ansys Electronics 2024R1 includes improvements on the DDR5 IBIS-AMI capabilities. A Data Rx AMI model may include a Clock Input parameter to indicate that it expects its clock as input from another Rx. Clock forwarding has been added for DDR5 analysis requirements. Now, in Ansys Electronics 2024R1, Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) automatically recognizes parameters and runs the tasks automatically in the correct order.
The release also comes with a cloud made easy, directly from the AEDT. This, along with a web client for batch-solve monitoring and reporting, provides great efficiency when running time-consuming analyses.
